The Plasma TV which can be as slim as 1.2" deep, is something we should all be thankful for and take care of. This is especially true for installation. It is not something to be left to amateurs. Yet, if you have time and patience on your hands, these are the steps you should follow to for Plasma Installation. The first thing to do if you want to wall mount your Plasma, is to look for a mount. Not every mount is compatible, so be careful in choosing as the wrong mount can damage, the TV, the wall and the mount.
But if it is base mounting, it is the simple task of attaching the base and drawing out the wires as best as possible.
The next thing to do for a wall mount is to fix up the height of the TV to be mounted and think of its placement. Now the simple rule of thumb for this process would be remembering 35 degrees above normal vision line strains the neck and 15 degrees below it diminishes the image. Also, a glare on the screen does not make for good viewing, so don’t choose a place opposite doors, windows and balconies. After this, if you wall mount, mark the position and then mark points for drilling screws into the wall. Then attach the bracket of the mount by drilling it into the wall. If it is a drywall, ensure that the point being drilled has a stud (i.e. the ‘frame’). This does not matter for concrete/brick walls. Repeat for the other bracket. Then, according to the instructions on the bracket (and these vary, so read them carefully), attach your TV to the bracket. This usually involves some form of bolting in.
For plasmas, there is also the additional option of ceiling mounting, and this is seriously recommended to be left in professional hands as several conditions unknown to the amateur need to be accounted for. After you are done, for the aesthetically minded, You should try to conceal the wires, and future proof it (i.e. install all possible wires in) because they will most certainly end up making the room ugly. Now the simplest method would be to hide it all behind furniture, but with a little more expense and effort, you can purchase wire covers in various colours. The final step, to ensure a good viewing experience is to fix up seating according to optimal viewing distance. This again has the thumb rule of least distance being twice the TV’s width and the farthest being 5 times of it. After this, your Plasma Installation is complete.
