Security is something that is of utmost importance to us all. And compromising the same can cost you much more than you would have intended to pay. And so, to keep your home and/or workplace completely secure from a potential threat, the installation of a security camera is recommended. Now they come in various types, shapes, sizes, colours and prices, so you should be likely to find at least one that suits your every necessity. Now even Security Camera Installation, which many would think as a job best left to professionals, can be done with minimum effort if done properly.

The first thing to consider would be placement. Now obviously, you would want to place it somewhere high up to get the maximum angle of view from the camera. So the best choices would be ceiling, or wall-top. Not that one thing to be avoided is placement that points to a source of light, artificial or natural. If that is the case, then the only thing to be seen will be the light. Now, if the camera works on motion sensors, then ensure that it is not fixed near windows and balconies as anything from rustling branches to passing birds and aeroplanes can trigger off the camera, wasting both power and film. For cameras to be placed out of doors, either point the lens downward or place under a projection so as to protect form the sun’s glare, which would cause the same problem as lighting, as discussed above.

Once location has been decided, the rest of the task is extremely easy. All that needs to be done is draw the cables from the power source to the port (RG 59 cables with both power and video wires are recommended). Drill in holes into the wall to install the mounting bracket. For drywall, ensure that the hole is drilled on a stud (framework) and do not worry about anything if done on a brick or concrete wall. Install the camera on the bracket. The cables, if you want to hide them, can be easily run through drywall, and with professional help, through concrete walls as well. Or you might opt to purchase wire sheaths for the same purpose. Check the proper functioning of the camera (i.e. proper contrast, brightness, focus etc.) and you have completed Security Camera Installation with minimum fuss.
